Somebody being dishonest

Report misrepresentation

Saying somebody lied about their relationship situation — that they said they were single and are not, or that their partner does not know.

Read this before you report, because it is not what you might expect

Nothing happens to their account. No penalty, no reduced visibility, no mark against them, no suspension. The person you report is told plainly that nothing has changed, and that is deliberate rather than an omission.

We do not investigate it and we could not. Whether somebody’s partner knows about their dating is not a thing a website can establish, and a platform that pretended to adjudicate it would be doing something worse than nothing.

It is published only as a number, and only as unverified. Reports of this kind appear in the measures members see, permanently described as allegations nobody has checked. Your report is never attached to their profile and they are never told who made it.

Then why have it at all

Because the alternative is pretending nobody ever does it. Other platforms either promise to police it, which they cannot, or leave it out, which suggests it does not happen. Counting it and saying plainly that it is unverified is the only honest version we could find.

If somebody lied to you, that is worth being angry about. This route will not get them punished and we are not going to imply that it might.

What is different, and what to do instead

If they broke a rule, that is a different report and it does have consequences — report someone.

If they asked you for money, that is fraud and it is a crime. Report Fraud, and tell us.

If you want to stop seeing them, dismiss them. They never come round again.

What you can do today

Signup is not open, so there is nobody to report. The address at the foot of every page reaches somebody who reads it.
