Somebody on Just One A Day
Report someone, or stop seeing them
Two different things, and it is worth knowing which one you want.
01
Stop seeing them
Dismissing somebody is permanent and it is yours to undo. They do not come round again, they are not told, and nothing about it is visible to them. If you change your mind, your dismissals are in your settings and you can undo any of them.
Ignoring is the lighter one. They may come round again. After three showings with nothing happening, the pairing ends for both of you — and you are both told, and it is counted.
02
Report them
For behaviour, not for taste. Somebody who broke the rules, frightened you, asked you for money, or is not who they say they are.
Reporting is not the same as dismissing and you can do both. Reporting somebody does not put you in touch with them and does not tell them who reported them.
There is no block button, and that is not an oversight
Dismissing is what a block is for. They never appear again, and it is permanent unless you undo it. Calling it a block would suggest something else is happening — a list somewhere, a wall between you — and there is not. One person a day, and that person is never them again.
What happens to a report
A person reads it. Nothing about an account is decided by counting reports — the PRD says that in as many words, and there is no threshold anywhere that suspends somebody automatically.
Clear evidence means the account goes, immediately. Less clear means somebody looks properly.
We will not tell you how quickly. We have not done the work that would let us say it honestly, and a promise about speed that we could not keep would be worse than none.
What you can do today
Signup is not open, so there is nobody to report yet. When something needs saying before then, the address at the foot of every page reaches somebody who reads it.
If it is a crime, it is not ours first. The police are 101, or 999 if somebody is in danger now. Illegal content and fraud each have their own page.
