Something illegal

Report illegal content

If somebody is in danger right now, call 999. This page is not an emergency route and nobody is watching it at three in the morning.

What this is for

  • Content that breaks the law — threats, harassment, content that incites violence or hatred, or anything sexual involving a child.
  • Somebody using your identity — your photographs, your name, your details, on an account that is not yours.
  • Intimate images shared without consent.
  • Copyright — your work, used without permission.

Where to go, and it is often not us

A child at risk, or any sexual content involving a child. Report it to the Internet Watch Foundation at iwf.org.uk and to the police. You do not need to tell us first and you should not wait for us.

Intimate images shared without your consent. The Revenge Porn Helpline is revengepornhelpline.org.uk, and they are better at this than we are.

A crime in progress or somebody in danger. 999. Otherwise 101.

Fraud. Report Fraud.

And tell us as well

Telling the police does not mean the content stays up. When we are told, we look, and content that is illegal comes down.

You will not need an account to tell us. Anybody will be able to report illegal content, report somebody using their identity, or say Just One A Day is not meeting its duties, without signing up to anything — that is a requirement rather than a courtesy.

⚠ That route is not built yet. Until it is, the address at the foot of every page is the way, and it reaches somebody who reads it.

What we will not say

We will not tell you how quickly we act. The assessment that would let us name a figure honestly has not been done, and until it has, naming one would be a guess dressed up as a commitment.
